Commissioner Kristin Myers reported at the June 25 Morris County Board of County Commissioners work session that the Workforce Development Board of Northwest New Jersey has been awarded funding to launch a digital‑foundations training program.
Myers said the initiative will operate in partnership with the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board and will serve at least 60 WorkFirst New Jersey participants across Morris, Sussex, Warren, Hunterdon and Somerset counties. The program, she said, will provide foundational digital‑literacy training, personalized coaching and wraparound supports, and will coordinate participant intake, digital assessments and individualized learning plans through local partners named in the presentation.
Myers identified partners and collaborators involved in participant intake and coaching. She said training aims to help participants attain industry‑recognized credentials and access job opportunities. The presentation did not record the precise dollar amount of the grant in clear numeric form during the work session; commissioners provided programmatic details and partners but did not record a formal board action on this item during the work session.
Myers also reported on other human‑services activities at the county, including community service projects by youth‑shelter residents and the 20th anniversary of Cornerstone Family Service’s adult day program in Morris County.
