Morris County Commissioner Kristin Myers said the county has completed an induction-loop project funded by a grant from the New Jersey Division of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and the system is ready for use in county Human Services meeting rooms.
Myers told the Board of Commissioners that the induction loop is installed in the Human Services conference room and the library/OTA conference room, and that headsets are available at each location. She said visitors with compatible hearing devices can connect without a headset and that the county also received mobile headsets for aging-services uses.
The grant award was made last year, Myers said, and county staff tested the new equipment before announcing its availability. "I think that's fantastic," she added.
No formal action was recorded on the equipment during the meeting; Myers reported the completion during the commissioners' reports and the equipment is now available for use. The announcement did not include vendor names, contract amounts or ongoing maintenance plans.
