Council approves fire radios, $7,500 façade grant, 9-month CD renewal and advisory appointment

The Lincoln City Council voted Aug. 4 to approve several administrative items on the agenda, including equipment purchases, a small business grant, a certificate-of-deposit renewal and an advisory appointment.
The council approved purchase of four radios for the fire department from Command Communications at a cost not to exceed $8,835. Alderman Anderson moved the item and Alderman O'Donoghue seconded; roll call recorded all members voting yes.
Council members also approved an economic development grant to Kevin and Brook Hild for a lower-roof replacement at 116 North McLean Street in an amount not to exceed $7,500. The motion was made by Alderman Parrott and seconded by Alderman Downs; the roll call vote was unanimous in favor.
The council renewed a certificate of deposit at United Community Bank for nine months at an interest rate of 4.1%; Alderman O'Donoghue moved and Alderman Clemens seconded the motion, which passed on a unanimous roll call.
Finally, the council advised consent to the mayoral appointment of Alderman Dennis Clemons to the Economic Development Commission. Alderman Sanders moved the approval and Alderman Parrott seconded; the roll call vote was unanimous.
