Resident urges ordinance to curb bicycles, e-bikes and skateboards on busy sidewalks near Tomball Main Street

He said he understands that bicycles are generally permitted on sidewalks but stressed that pedestrians have the right of way and that an enforceable local rule is needed to protect “old people and young people.”
Morgan said he personally walks his bike in crowds but urged council to develop enforceable standards for sidewalk use by bicycles, e-bikes and skateboards in busy pedestrian areas. The remarks were made during the public-comment portion of the meeting and did not result in immediate council action; council did not indicate a formal next step in response to the comment on Aug. 4.
