The Arlington City Council awarded the Jensen Park improvement contract to Reece Construction for $196,177.11. The project includes installation of a restroom building and expansion of the park—s parking area and is part of the city—s parks and recreation master plan.
Sarah (parks staff) presented the bid results and said Reece Construction was the apparent low bidder; a bid tab was included in the council packet. "The parent low bidder is Reece Construction for $196,000 and $1,177 and 11¢," Sarah said. The council moved, seconded and approved the award and authorized the mayor to sign the construction contract.
Clarifying detail: the bid tab was attached to the council packet; staff made the recommendation based on the low, responsive bid. No contract amendments were discussed at the meeting.
Next steps: staff will execute the contract with Reece Construction and proceed to construction mobilization under the city—s standard contracting and inspection procedures.
