Communications staff told the Park Board that the department’s social-media pages saw modest follower growth in the past month and highlighted top posts that drove reach and registrations.
Katie (communications staff) said the Parks and Recreation Facebook post teasing the slab pad water reached about 24,000 people and generated 57 shares and 116 click-throughs. She said the Golf Wichita page’s top post reached roughly 108,000 people and drove more than 1,000 click-throughs to registration information.
Staff also described the department’s activity guides: the quarterly Evolve guide (a collaboration with Cultural Arts and the public library), an annual Golf Wichita guide and an annual Great Plains Nature Center guide. Katie said the Evolve guide will be distributed to city facilities and select local businesses, with QR codes on buses and other signage to drive digital access; the summer guide will be available online and in print this week.
Why it matters: printed and digital activity guides serve as both registration catalogs and outreach tools to boost program participation and revenue; social-media reach metrics provide a near-term indicator of public interest and registration activity.
