The Story County Board of Supervisors on Aug. 5 approved revisions to the county’s asset policies and procedures that largely clean up language and add two substantive clarifications. County staff said the update clarifies that other agencies or organizations may be eligible to apply as sponsoring organizations and that the county will develop criteria for those requests. The policy also adds language on how complaints concerning a potential asset agency would be handled. Staff said the provisions are intended to clarify process and have been updated annually as part of routine maintenance. Supervisors moved and seconded approval of the revised policy during the consent/discussion section; the motion carried with recorded aye votes. The changes were described as procedural and not requiring additional implementation action beyond staff development of application criteria and complaint procedures.
