Council approves first reading of charter amendment and development-agreement amendments, sets public hearing for Aug. 19

Mayor Pro Tem Harmon moved to approve CB25-16, an ordinance submitting proposed amendments to Section 8.2 of the City Charter to the registered electors at the Nov. 4, 2025 municipal election and setting ballot titles; CB25-17, an ordinance authorizing a fourth amendment to the development agreement pertaining to vested rights for Cimarron Park; CB25-18, an ordinance authorizing a third amendment to the development agreement pertaining to vested rights for Beaumont; and CB25-19, an ordinance amending various provisions of Arvada’s Land Development Code. The motion set public hearing for Aug. 19, 2025 at 6:15 p.m.
Action and vote: The motion passed on first reading by a 7–0 vote. The council ordered the ordinances published in full and scheduled the public hearing.
Why it matters: The items affect the municipal charter (which requires voter approval), vested-rights development agreements for two named projects, and city land-development rules.
