The Newberg City Council authorized the next phase of the city’s inflow and infiltration (I&I) study and directed staff to execute the related work order with Keller Associates for $167,355. City staff explained the study will develop targets for I&I repairs, integrate results from upcoming smoke testing and CCTV inspections, estimate reductions in extraneous flows, and provide recommendations for lateral and mains replacement planning over multiple biennia. The project cost was presented as included in the capital improvement program budget and staff recommended authorization to proceed. A motion to authorize Keller Engineering (Keller Associates) to initiate the I&I study for $167,355 was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. Staff said the study outcomes will inform future repair prioritization and budgeting.
