Council approves $43,000 contract for SCADA design at east receiving station

Crest Hill — The Cresthill City Council on Aug. 4 approved an agreement with Strand Associates for design and related services for a new SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) system at the East Receiving Station, in the amount of $43,000. City Engineer Ron Wiedemann presented the item and said the proposed contract with Strand Associates was discussed at the prior workshop. The work covers design services for a new water SCADA system located at the East Receiving Station and related delivery points for the Grand Prairie Water Commission. Aldermen moved and seconded the resolution (No. 1334) and the council adopted it by roll call. The recorded roll call included yes votes from Claudia Dizal (Gazelle in some parts of the record), Dean Oberlin (recorded as Dean Oberlin), Mark Cipiti, Nate Olberk and others; the clerk announced the motion carried. The council did not amend the scope during the meeting. Staff did not read the full contract language into the record; the city engineer said the item had been discussed previously at the work session and that Strand Associates would perform the design work under the contract amount stated.
