Council members withdrew PL2025-906, an ordinance that would amend multiple sections of the Metropolitan Code to allow the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) to increase certain permit and administrative fees over time.
The ordinance, introduced on second reading as PL 20 25-906 by Council members Parker, Porterfield and Hill, followed an NDOT fee study produced by a contractor. The committee chair said the bill would be withdrawn "on the floor tomorrow" for additional stakeholder engagement and expected to return to the council in the near future.
Council member Brown asked that any future summary include a clearer presentation of benchmark information from other cities — not just the detailed fee-study appendices — to make the comparisons more accessible. "If they come back with another summary, could we ask that they also include in that summary some of the benchmark information?" Brown asked. Committee staff and the director indicated the committee did not need to take further action at the meeting; Director Darby confirmed no additional committee recommendation was required.
No vote on the ordinance was taken in committee; the item was withdrawn and is expected to return after further engagement and revisions to the summary materials.
