County adopts geospatial permitting software to link building permits with tax assessor

Skipper said linking the two offices will allow permit issuance to be entered once and reflected in the assessor’s database in real time instead of being keyed twice by staff. He called the change a move toward modernizing county workflows and reducing paper processing.
A commissioner asked whether the software is cloud‑based and whether IT staff had any concerns about storage or service dependencies; county staff confirmed the product is a SaaS (software‑as‑a‑service) cloud product. The board approved the purchase during the business session and authorized implementation steps for Community Development and the assessor’s office to proceed.
