Committee forwards Bison Business Park zoning change to Business Park classification

The Public Services Committee on Aug. 4 recommended that the City Council approve a zoning change for property in Bison Business Park, moving lots currently zoned HI (Heavy Industrial) and AG (Agricultural) into the BP (Business Park) classification on third reading.
Connor White of the Planning and Development Department described the request as a consolidation of various lots in Bison Business Park into the BP zone to support future development, saying, "So they are looking at taking various lots over in Bison and changing them to our business park zone now that we have it, just to help further development out there in Bison Business Park." No members of the public commented during the committee meeting.
Dr. Aldridge moved approval on third and final reading; Councilman White seconded. Committee members voted in favor and forwarded the ordinance to the full City Council with a recommendation to adopt at the next meeting.
No amendments, conditions, or budget implications were discussed at the committee meeting. The Planning and Development Department will place the zoning ordinance on the full council agenda.
