All each motions carried on voice votes. On the VFW 2025 car show special event, a city public-safety official told the board organizers plan to fire a ceremonial cannon once an hour from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. to honor veterans and that no projectiles will be used. The official said the police department expects some calls but will be prepared; "no projectiles, just a lot of noise," the official said. The board approved the special-event permit. Board members approved all items and adjourned; staff said they issue most event permits administratively but bring items before the board when an event might draw public attention or calls for service.
