Morning docket: guilty pleas, deferred adjudication and bond and discovery resets in 187th District Court

SAN ANTONIO — The 187th District Court heard a series of pleas, sentencing provisions and procedural matters Thursday under Judge Stephanie Boyd, including guilty pleas accepted by the court, deferred-adjudication orders, competency findings and scheduling for future jury trials and discovery deadlines.

Among the court actions recorded on the docket:

- Roman Allen Flores (cause 2025CR002317) pleaded guilty to evading arrest with a vehicle (third-degree felony) and to a state-jail-felony theft count; the state abandoned one count and the parties asked the court to assess punishment at a 10-year cap on the third-degree felony and 119 days on the state-jail count. The court accepted the pleas, found Flores guilty, and, at the parties' request, set a sentencing hearing with a 4‑week reset; the parties waived a presentence investigation report (PSI). - Gustavo Jimenez: the defense reported that Jimenez had been restored to competency on July 24 and asked for a discovery reset to allow counsel to gather additional materials. Judge Boyd reset the matter for August 26 for discovery and status so defense counsel can complete review of e-discovery materials.

- Christopher Guerrero asked the court to remove a condition referring him to felony drug court after he declined participation; the judge removed the referral and ordered continued supervision with monthly UAs after the probation officer and defense…
