Christopher Xavier Bernal appeared in Bexar County District Court and entered pleas in multiple cause numbers; the court accepted plea agreements, adjudicated Bernal guilty, and imposed sentences that included multi-year terms and no-contact orders.
The court called cause numbers including 2025CR006379 and others. Bernal, represented in court, waived reading of the indictments and acknowledged he had reviewed admonishments and plea paperwork with counsel. For one cause number (ending in 16), the plea agreement provided for 149 days in the Bexar County Jail to be served under code section noted on the record, to run concurrent with 2025CR006379; the state would take into consideration several other cause numbers. In two cause numbers the court accepted pleas that carried six-year prison terms; for a separate cause the court assessed a $1,500 fine and a six-year prison term to run concurrently with certain other causes.
The court recorded an affirmative finding of family violence for one cause and ordered no contact with named individuals: Olga Tobar; Justin Vasquez; Emily Torres; Samantha Hernandez; and Claudia Sanford. The court advised Bernal that, with a finding of family violence, he is prohibited from owning or possessing weapons or ammunition and may not be designated primary custodial parent as specified on the record.
Defense counsel confirmed that the defendant reviewed and signed waiver-of-appeal documents and stipulations; state exhibits were admitted by stipulation. The court accepted the stipulations and found sufficient evidence to find Bernal guilty in each cause number presented.
Sentences and conditions were entered on the record as part of the plea bargains, and the court stated that the plea agreements would be followed as recorded; where the court follows a plea agreement, the defendant generally waived permission to appeal. The record shows restitution, no-contact provisions, concurrent sentencing instructions, and an affirmative finding of family violence in at least one case. The record did not show live testimony in these pleas, as evidence was presented via stipulations and exhibits.
Speakers on the record included the presiding judge, counsel Michael De Leon and Robert Gallon for the defendant, the defendant Christopher Xavier Bernal, and an unnamed state prosecutor who announced the state’s position.
