Council awards four-year contract to redesign and maintain city website

The Statesboro mayor and city council voted Aug. 5 to award a four-year contract to the vendor Revised to redesign and maintain the city's website. The contract cost is $36,100 for the first year and $12,200 annually for the subsequent three years for website support, staff said.
Staff told the council the city issued a request for qualifications, received nine or ten proposals, narrowed the field to three, and recommends Revised. The redesign is expected to take roughly six to eight months to implement; the longer contract term covers ongoing maintenance.
Mr. Penn, staff member, said the contract will include an escape clause to address any nonperformance, and staff recommended award. "We recommend award of the contractor Revised," Mr. Penn said. Council approved the motion by voice vote.
Council members said the redesigned site should be more user-friendly, mobile-accessible and easier for residents to find information. The contract will be funded from the city's contractual services account. Staff said implementation will follow the procurement and contracting process and include milestones for deliverables and maintenance.
