The City of Dalton approved a service agreement with DBT Transportation Services on Aug. 4 to provide airport navigational-aid services at the municipal airport, city staff said. Andrew (staff) reported the contract is included in the airport’s annual budget and represents roughly $4,000 in savings compared with the previous vendor; the council voted to approve the agreement by voice vote during the meeting.
Andrew told the council the action requires only the mayor’s signature to move forward; the meeting record shows a motion, a second, and an affirmative voice vote. No contract term length or implementation date was specified in the public portion of the meeting record. The staff presentation did not identify operational changes to the navigational-aid equipment, nor did it include a copy of the full contract in the meeting minutes; staff indicated the matter was budgeted and ready for signature.
