Highway superintendent seeks $250,000 county match for CCMG 2026 chip‑and‑seal funding

He said the county expects chip‑and‑seal contractors to be available in a couple of months after rain‑related delays elsewhere.
On grant funding, Todd described the Community Crossings Matching Grant (CCMG) process: the county cap for CCMG funding has been set at $1 million, and the 2026‑1 call will have a county cap of $250,000 for the county’s portion of a project. He said the CCMG match structure differs by call and that the grant is competitive; he asked the commissioners to authorize up to $250,000 in county funds as the local match for the CCMG 2026‑1 submission. “I’ll entertain a motion then to approve the Decatur County grama proposal for CCMG 2026 dash 1 authorizing up to $250,000 from the county,” Todd said.
A commissioner moved the authorization, the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. “All those in favor, say aye.” Aye. The motion carried.
The highway superintendent requested county signatures on grant paperwork and noted the state recommended renewing the county’s annual authorization resolution for a legal signer for quick turnaround on grant documents. He said the county will prepare closeout documents for the 2025‑1 CCMG activity so the county can apply cleanly for the 2026 call.
