Albany County awards psychiatric services contracts and approves diversion counseling provider

Albany County commissioners awarded contracts for psychiatric nurse practitioner services and approved a counseling services contract to provide clinical care for participants in the county's court-supervised treatment and diversion programs.
Heather (county program staff) said the county issued requests for proposals for psychiatric services. Albany County Community Health Clinic responded and staff recommended awarding contracts to provide psychiatric nurse practitioner services for juvenile participants and, separately, for adult participants in the court-supervised treatment program. Commissioners voted to award the bids and approve the contracts.
The commissioners also approved a contract with Clinic for Mental Health and Wellness to provide addiction severity assessments, group counseling and individual counseling for adult diversion participants after the county's previous contractor stopped providing services. Heather said the prior provider "had kind of fallen off the face of the earth," and staff recommended the new contract to restore services.
Commissioners approved the agreements and asked staff to coordinate scheduling and ensure continuity of care for program participants.
