City Manager Laura Logan briefed the council on a wetland permit application from the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources for improvements to the South Bay access. Logan said the agency plans to install a new dock and concrete anchor at the southern boat ramp, eliminate the northern ramp once the southern improvements are in place and add an ADA-compliant dock and parking space near the information kiosk. Logan told the council the changes follow a recently updated 20-year lease for the South Bay access and that the northern ramp is in poor condition while the southern ramp’s concrete slab is in better shape. She brought maps for council information and said the council needed to be aware of the agency’s planned work; there was no action required by the council at the meeting. Why it matters: The proposal affects public access configuration, ADA access and shoreline condition at a public boat-access site; the council noted the lease and the agency contact and accepted the informational update.
