Board approves personnel report; principal introduces new vice principal Sandra Ross

The Central Union High School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the August 2025 personnel report on Aug. 5. After the vote, Principal Joe Dermott introduced Sandra Ross as Southwest High School’s new vice principal of curriculum.
Principal Joe Dermott asked Ross to come forward and said the school was “very proud to have her here at the school site.” Ross told trustees, “I'm very excited to be here. I'm a graduate myself…my kids went to Southwest,” and said she was pleased to join the community and the staff.
Action taken: the personnel report was moved and seconded and approved by voice vote; no roll call names were recorded in the public portion of the transcript.
No further action was required at the meeting to confirm Ross’ assignment; her introduction followed the board’s routine approval of personnel items on the consent agenda.
