Board introduces new assistant principal for Early Learning Center; staffing items approved

The Greece Central School District Board of Education introduced Mamut Gadamenli as the new assistant principal for the Early Learning Center and approved several routine staffing items during Thursdays meeting.
Assistant Superintendent Larson introduced Gadamenli, saying he has served in the district for 18 years as an English as a New Language teacher at Long Ridge Elementary School and most recently served as interim assistant principal at Long Ridge for 21/2 months. Larson told trustees Gadamenli holds a masters degree in TESOL and school building and district leadership certifications from the University of Rochester and has served on attendance and multicultural committees, led professional development and summer school work.
"He strongly believes that every student possesses a unique intelligence and is committed to uncovering and nurturing those strengths within school culture," Larson said, introducing Gadamenli to the board and community.
Earlier in the meeting, the board moved multiple staffing items to the table and approved them. A staffing motion moved by Vice President Stencil and seconded by Mister Butler passed with the recorded tally stated as 8 to 0 at the time; subsequent staffing and contractual items reflected unanimous support in consent votes recorded later as 9 to 0. The board also approved additional GTA MOA FTEs, non-unit rate sheets, and other personnel-related memoranda of agreement as listed on the consent agenda.
Trustees invited Gadamenli and his family to take photographs after the introduction. The personnel motions were routine approvals; no substantial debate on the staffing slate was reported in the transcript.
