The Laramie County School District No. 1 board approved a fee proposal with Knife River for the replacement of the Alta Vista parking lot, including a 10 percent contingency for governmental fees and requirements. The motion authorized approximately $498,690 for the work.
District staff said the project is scheduled to begin in mid to late September and will take about four to five weeks. The contractor will close the parking lot during construction and district staff will adjust bus routing and parking arrangements; principals and staff will coordinate staging and signage. Major maintenance funding had been delayed earlier in the year, staff said, and the project was moved from spring to fall to accommodate available funds.
Trustees asked about neighbor notification; staff said they will place construction signage but do not plan a separate neighborhood mailing. The board approved the contract by voice vote.
