Commissioner Newton moved and Commissioner Fackrell seconded approval of a tax abatement to clear a parcel deeded in error, and the motion carried.
Sean Rose asked the commission to approve payment of back taxes on a parcel that “should not exist in the deed.” Rose said the parcel was deeded to the LDS Church in February 2015 but was not deleted from county records; he requested abatement of back taxes so the county can delete the parcel from its records.
Commissioner Newton moved to approve abatement of taxes for Parcel 00-0069-2199 in the amount of $53.90 plus accrued interest. Commissioner Fackrell seconded. The chair called for the question, the commissioners answered “aye,” and the chair declared the motion carried.
The transcript records a voice vote and the motion carrying; it does not record a roll-call tally by individual commissioner name beyond the motion and second. The abatement was presented as an administrative correction to clear a deeding error so the parcel can be removed from records.
