Norfolk County commissioners on June 18 postponed consideration of a request from the town of Millis for engineering department assistance to draft a schematic plan for Oak Grove Farm. The agenda packet listed Patrick Higgins of Millis as the applicant; the commissioners said they preferred to hear from Higgins in person or on Zoom before acting. A staff member noted the Millis application requested the schematic be completed “as time permits” and did not include a firm deadline. Commissioner Shea and Commissioner Stade expressed concern about the county engineering department’s workload and asked that the Millis representative appear to answer questions about scope and timing. A motion to postpone the item to the next week’s meeting was made and approved; the board recorded a vote to postpone pending the applicant’s attendance. Ending: The matter will return to the agenda next week with an expectation that Patrick Higgins or a Millis representative will be present to discuss scope and timeline.
