The New Ulm City Council approved several routine business licenses and permits during Tuesday—s meeting, including a cannabis microbusiness retailer registration and a lawful gambling premise permit.
Council authorized a lawful gambling premise permit for the New Ulm Hockey Association to conduct pull-tab gambling at the Franklin, 126 North Minnesota Street; the motion carried on roll call. The council also renewed the tree service license for Bellick Tree Service LLC for the period Aug. 6, 2025 through June 30, 2026, subject to compliance with city and state requirements.
A temporary on-sale intoxicating liquor license was approved for State Street Theater Corporation at 1 North State Street for an event scheduled for Sept. 12, 2025. The council approved liquor permits for the Hermann Monument Society to serve alcohol during Hermanfest at Harmon Park and Herman Heights Park on Sept. 6, 2025, and accepted a cannabis microbusiness retailer registration for Greenleaf's LLC at 2021 South Bridal (address as listed), subject to compliance with city and state requirements. Council discussion noted that this registration will be the city—s second and that no further registrations would be issued beyond the cap discussed.
Director Jorgensen called the roll for these items; Councilors Christian, Schmitz, Mack and Womack voted to approve the motions.
