Machesse Park trustees approve consent agenda, hear $51.4 million treasurer’s report and community announcements

At its August 2025 regular meeting, the Village of Machesse Park Board of Trustees approved a consent agenda that included authorizing the purchase of a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 6,500 dump truck and placed the treasurer’s report on file for audit.
The treasurer’s report, presented by Treasurer Deb Olm, showed "as of 07/28/2025 [a] total of all funds to be $51,434,818.57," Olm said. The board subsequently approved a warrant totaling $373,531.52 after a motion from Trustee Aaron Wilson and a second from Trustee Bailey; roll call votes were all in favor with one member absent.
The consent agenda contained three items listed by Village Administrator Jane Birkin II: Resolution 44 R 25 to release closed session minutes, Resolution 48 R 25 reappointing the village administrator to the Northern Illinois Land Bank Authority board of trustees, and Resolution 51 R 25 authorizing the purchase of the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado dump truck. The board approved the consent agenda by roll call vote; Trustees Stromberg, Roe, Wilson, Bailey, Bogan and Mayor Brandon Johnson voted aye.
Mayor Brandon Johnson used his remarks to remind residents about two community events: National Night Out on Aug. 5 at Harlem High School from 5 to 7 p.m., and a village back-to-school shopping contest launched by management analyst Kevin Sutter. "This contest is a new way to support the local business in our community," Johnson said; the contest runs July 28 through Aug. 15, with winners to be randomly selected and announced on Aug. 18. The announcement said prizes include Visa gift cards of up to $200.
Committee reports included a notice from Trustee Aaron Wilson that the N.F. Committee had two resolutions moving forward—Resolution 51 R 25 for the evening and Resolution 50 R 25 scheduled for Aug. 18—and Trustee Bailey said the Planning and Economic Development Committee forwarded one resolution and three ordinances with positive recommendations to the Aug. 18 board meeting.
Trustee Boney reported that the Pop-Up in the Parks event at McChesney Town Center on July 19 drew more than 115 vendors despite a rain delay and organizers have arranged to return Oct. 4. Public safety supervisor Deputy Chief Josh Jester reported that deputies conducted 582 traffic stops in July.
There were no public comments. The meeting opened with an invocation and pledge, and the board adjourned after approving the evening’s motions.
The board scheduled further consideration of the planning and ordinance items for the Aug. 18 meeting; other agenda items were handled by consent or report.
