The recorder said the office is producing more revenue from services such as Black Knight and image sales (noting a single recent deposit of about $13,000), and the office expects image fees to increase in 2027 if a statutory fee cap is adjusted.
The recorder reported a perpetuation-fund spending balance of $812,897 as of July 31 and suggested using the fund to bring staff closer to the midpoint of pay ranges without drawing on county general fund dollars. The office also outlined enhanced access and security/redaction funds used for online mortgage and record imaging projects.
Committee members asked for clarification on contractual services and the recorder said one-time projects that came in under budget in the prior year reduced requested contractual expenditures for 2026.
