Hanning Construction presents company update and offers construction management services

Vince DeVitto of Hanning Construction addressed the council during public comment to outline the company’s history, recent leadership changes and local work, and to offer the company’s services as a construction manager or general contractor for local public projects.
DeVitto said Hanning Construction has been operating in Vigo County since 1960 and reviewed a recent succession: a 2021 purchase by Larry Yargas, a 2023 leadership restructuring and the naming of a new CEO. He listed recent and current projects — including work at Indiana State University, Ray Park Clubhouse, Terre Haute Regional Airport and the Swope Art Museum — and said the firm typically employs about 95–100 county residents while working. "Construction management is a new way of things. People are doing projects. They're bringing on someone to be more of the owner's rep on the front end ... and we have, we're starting to build a resume of as those projects ... that's where we're shifting kind of our focus," DeVitto said.
DeVitto asked the council and staff to consider Hanning Construction as a resource for upcoming public projects and left contact information for follow‑up. No formal action was requested or taken.
