County engineer updates committee on roads, bridges: Golden Bridge guardrail delay, Kruger Bridge latex overlay nearing completion

County highways staff provided project‑by‑project updates to the Land Use and Transportation Committee on Aug. 5. Golden Bridge (Lexington–Leroy Road): staff said guardrail is expected to arrive Thursday and crews will groove and seal the deck; the contractor must finish by the Aug. 15 deadline. PJ Keller Highway: the project is nearly complete, with guardrail and reflectors installed; rumble strips on safety shoulders remain to be placed by a subcontractor. Stringtown Road: mainline paving and striping are complete; the contractor still needs to finish incidental driveway and side‑road work and is expected back before the end of the week. Kruger Bridge (west of Hudson): crews used a hydro‑scarifier to remove about the top inch and a half of concrete to address delaminations, repaired loose rebar, and poured a latex overlay mixed on‑site. Staff described a curing regimen (dry cure two days, wet cure two days) and said contractors will groove and profile approaches before reopening. "We put, like, 3 inches of overlay on it…next week or two this will be open back up as well," staff said. Tawanda–Gridley Road: contractor began milling the existing surface and will follow with overlay work; the same contractor that completed PJ Keller is performing the work. No votes were taken on these status reports; staff asked the committee to note timelines and remaining punch‑list items.
