The Whitefish City Council on July 28 voted to let the developer of the Alpine 93 & 40 project apply for and receive building permits before the rental-unit deed restrictions required by the Legacy Homes program are recorded, provided the deed restrictions are recorded and in place before certificate of occupancy is granted.
The motion, moved from the dais and seconded by Councilor Caltabiano, responded to a developer request that permit issuance be timed to avoid construction delays while staff, the developer and the Whitefish Housing Authority finalize language and administrative arrangements for how rental deed-restricted units will be administered. The council approved the motion unanimously.
