Bridgeport board approves BoardBook Premier to centralize meeting materials

The Bridgeport Board of Education voted to adopt BoardBook Premier, a web-based meeting management system, during its Aug. 4 special meeting, moving to centralize board packets, meeting materials and workflows.

Board members approved a motion to implement the product after a brief presentation and a short video demonstration. The system was described by district staff as a way to make board packets and supporting documents more accessible to members and the public and to reduce repeated manual work. Staff said the district recently renewed a broader contract that included access to BoardBook and that the implementation would be phased with training for clerical and board users.

Board secretary Danielle and district leaders said confidential executive-session materials would not be published to the public portal and that the system includes security features to restrict distribution. The district committed to provide training modules and individual assistance for board members and to keep an accessible archive of older packets and minutes through the existing portal if needed.

The motion to approve was seconded and approved by the board; no roll-call tally was recorded in the public record provided at the meeting. District staff said they would return with a rollout plan and training timeline and that they are already working to integrate more of Munis' K‑12 functionality to support finance and procurement work.

The board then entered an executive session later in the evening and adjourned after reconvening.
