Pelham — The Pelham Board of Education on Aug. 4 approved personnel recommendations that included two resignations (one certified, one classified) and a certified new hire, board members said at a special-call meeting at the central office. Dr. Costanza, the district staff member who presented personnel recommendations, told the board: “Those are my recommendations.”
The board voted by voice to approve items 1 through 4, with the chair calling for a motion and a second; no members voiced opposition during the roll call by voice. The motion passed and the items were recorded as approved.
Dr. Costanza told the board the personnel slate included two resignations (one certified, one classified) and one new certified employment. The presentation also referenced a special education aide contract; the transcript records both the phrase “employment of a special education aid” and immediately after a recommendation that “that contract be terminated immediately.” The board record presented this sequence during the personnel portion of the meeting; the motion the board approved covered personnel items 1–4 as presented.
Miss Terry was asked to record attendance before the board took action on personnel. The board did not take separate roll-call votes on the individual personnel items during the special meeting; approval was taken by a single voice vote covering items 1–4.
The board adjourned after brief board comments and announcements about upcoming meetings, including a work session on Aug. 11 and a regular meeting with the first budget hearing on Aug. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the central office.
