County staff observed the North Bay showed visible improvement and said the association is conducting sonar and clarity mapping and other monitoring to measure results. The pilot runs under a contract through September; lake association leaders said the project is a test that could be scaled and repeated, and that they were exploring funding options should they decide to expand the work.
The county did not commit funding at the meeting, but commissioners praised the association’s initiative and recommended the group pursue additional technical and funding options as needed. The county noted interest in results and in any lessons for other shoreland communities considering similar interventions.
