The Pine County Board agreed to schedule a public meeting to present and gather comment on a jointly developed trail master plan with Kanabec County. County staff said the meeting does not need to be a formal public hearing but that a published notice and presentation would be appropriate.
Greg Anderson, the engineer who worked on the plan, is available Sept. 16 to present to the county's regular agenda, county staff reported. Commissioners moved and approved scheduling a public meeting for that date and asked staff to publish notice and invite public comment.
County staff described the step as part of routine public engagement and asked the board to accept a public meeting rather than a hearing; commissioners approved the recommendation without further amendment. Staff will publish notice and include the item on the Sept. 16 agenda, and the board expects to collect public comment that day to inform any subsequent formal hearings or adoption steps.
