Parish President Jewel said the parish recently broke ground on phase 2 of the LA 18 water-main replacement, upgrading about 4,800 feet of original cast-iron pipe to a new PVC water main along River Road from Ashton Boulevard to Annie Lane. Jewel said work is expected to wrap up in December and that the contractor has flaggers on site while crews conduct the replacement.
Jewel said this phase follows earlier work that began nearer the courthouse and that additional phases will continue afterward. She thanked residents for patience while crews work in traffic areas and said the parish is completing the project one phase at a time.
The report provided a project length and expected completion month but did not include a construction schedule, a contract value, or funding sources for this phase. No formal vote or funding appropriation was presented during the report.
