Lisle board approves consent agenda including drone purchase, surplus-vehicle disposals and closed-session record actions

The Village of Lisle Board on Aug. 4 voted to approve the consent agenda covering routine administrative items, including minutes, accounts payable, record-retention actions and a small equipment purchase.

By roll call the board approved: minutes for the July 21 regular meeting and two committee meetings; an invoice list totaling $1,206,402.82; a resolution authorizing destruction of verbatim closed‑session recordings for meetings between Aug. 7, 2023 and Dec. 4, 2023; and a resolution reviewing whether confidentiality protections remain for closed‑session minutes from Nov. 1, 1983 through Dec. 16, 2024. The board also approved an ordinance authorizing purchase of unmanned aerial system equipment and a related budget amendment in the amount of $27,579.99; staff said the drone will be operated only by qualified operators and will not contain facial-recognition capabilities. Finally, the board approved an ordinance authorizing the village manager to dispose of specified surplus village vehicles, including replaced wood chippers, plow trucks and several police vehicles.

Village Manager Cook presented the consent items and staff recommended approval of items a through h as presented; the board approved the package by voice and roll-call votes with all trustees voting aye.

These actions are administrative and do not alter village policy beyond the specified equipment acquisition and surplus disposals. The drone purchase includes a noted operational restriction (qualified operators; no facial recognition). The approved invoice list will be processed per standard village procedures.
