Superintendent Dr. Prince introduced three new school principals and publicly recognized the district’s pick to lead a planned new school during the board meeting.
Russell Ader was introduced as the new principal at Fairlawn Elementary School. Ader addressed the board and thanked mentors, family and colleagues, saying he was “honored to be part of a district that consistently prioritizes the well-being and success of every student.”
Dana Markowitz was introduced as principal of Palm Point K–8. Markowitz thanked mentors, family and district leaders and said she was “incredibly honored to be named the new principal of Palm Point,” adding, “This opportunity is more than just a position, it's a calling.”
John DeVino was introduced as principal of White City Elementary School. DeVino said he appreciated “the trust you have in me to fulfill this role” and thanked mentors and family.
The superintendent also asked the board to recognize Latonya Green as the principal of the planned Western Grove K–8, a school Dr. Prince said will open in August 2026. Dr. Prince praised Green’s interview presentation and said the school is expected to open on schedule.
Remarks were introductory and ceremonial in nature; the transcript records no formal board votes tied to these introductions during the meeting. Several principals spoke directly to the board and thanked district mentors, families and staff. The transcript does not include employment contract details, effective hire dates, or whether these appointments had been approved previously by the board in an earlier action.
