County opens vehicle bids, then tables award so staff can review offers

The Lawrence County controller opened 12 bid envelopes on Aug. 5 for four surplus county vehicles. Bids ranged from low hundreds of dollars to roughly $1,180 depending on vehicle and bidder. The county did not award any vehicles at the meeting; commissioners voted unanimously to table the items so staff and counsel could review the bids and return with recommendations. County Controller David Crestapine read bid amounts and bidders into the record for the four advertised vehicles (including 2014 and 2015 Ford Police Interceptors and 2016 Ford Explorers).
