Personnel report: several educational‑support staff promoted; certified openings limited ahead of Aug. 11

Libertyville — District staff presented the personnel report at the July 28 program and personnel committee and asked that it be added to the consent agenda for the regular meeting. The report showed a number of educational support personnel (ESP) moved into higher positions within the district and that vacancies remain limited as the district prepares for an Aug. 11 start.
Bridal Bryant, presenting the personnel report, said “a number of positions were filled by other ESP that are moving up in positions,” and listed current employees shifting to new roles (Sodi Thomas, Burtu, Ronnie Cocaineas, Nina Ferullo were named as examples in the personnel update). Bryant said a memorandum of agreement created after the collective bargaining agreement helped clarify compensation when employees moved into higher positions.
Bryant told committee members the district still had a handful of ESP openings, primarily special services aides at school buildings, and one certified staff position open. She said hiring was ongoing and the district expects to be in a good position for the start of school.
Board members asked whether the new collective bargaining agreement affected internal placements; Bryant said the clearer compensation structure and the memorandum of agreement smoothed internal transitions. The personnel report was placed on the consent agenda and approved at the regular meeting.
