Libertyville — The board adopted a set of updated board policies at the July 28 meeting after a second reading and recognized additional policies for periodic review and monitoring.
Brian (district staff) presented the packet in committee and told members the policies were reviewed at the June board meeting and again at two subsequent committee meetings. “This is our second reading. We have these at the June board meeting, and then our recommendation is, the board has now had a couple of meetings to review it and to, adopt it at the, board meeting here at 7PM today,” Brian said.
Members noted some hyperlinks embedded in the policy documents pointed to pages on the district website that are being migrated; staff said they will ensure links are updated and that those changes will not require returning the policies to the board for action. The board approved the updated policies and also acknowledged a separate batch for first‑reading recognition; staff clarified the first reading requires no vote and that the regular two‑reading process will continue for policy changes.
Under policy development, staff cited Policy 2‑240 (Policy Development) as guidance for periodic review and monitoring. Board members asked that staff keep them informed of link fixes and future batches of policy updates to be presented later in the year.
