The La Porte Common Council adopted a resolution authorizing multiple transfers between line items within the city’s 2025 budgets to cover essential services and obligations.
Councilman Amir Galloway introduced the fund-transfer resolution. Clerk-Treasurer Partheun told council members the packet included supporting department requests and a Redevelopment Commission resolution from July 30.
The transfers listed in the resolution included: $907.02 from printing/advertising to professional services in General Communications; $4,700 from other supplies to police cleaning services in the Police Department budget; $500 from salaries to office supplies in the NVH fund; $3,600 and $3,000 moved within Local Road and Street operating and maintenance lines; $80,000 from infrastructure to professional services in TIF-1 (downtown); $50,000 from infrastructure to professional services in TIF-2 (Thomas Rose Industrial Park); and two $10,000 transfers to professional services in TIF-3 Eastgate and TIF-4 Town Square.
Council members moved and seconded the resolution and voted to approve it at the meeting. Clerk-Treasurer Partheun said department heads’ requests and RDC approval were included in the meeting packet for reference.
