Council approves engineering contract for Ridgebury Boulevard resurfacing

Mayfield Heights council on Aug. 4 adopted a resolution amending and authorizing professional engineering services with the GPD Group (Klaus Pyle, Chalmer, Burns & DeHaven Inc. d/b/a GPD) for the Ridgebury Boulevard resurfacing project. The project limits run from Iroquois Avenue to Orchard Heights Drive; the north side of the road lies in Highland Heights and both municipalities will combine the work into a single bid package.
Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works will provide up to $250,000 toward construction, the resolution states. City staff said GPD will coordinate design with Highland Heights and the two communities will consider a cooperative agreement after bids are received to allocate final costs by jurisdiction.
Council moved and approved the resolution by roll-call vote. The city will proceed with engineering services for its side of the project and coordinate bidding and construction administration with Highland Heights and the county.
Ending: Staff said they will return with bid results and a formal cooperative agreement outlining each community’s share of construction costs.
