During the Aug. 4 public comment period, a resident who identified herself as King told the board she was assaulted at a K and G store in Orland Park. King said she had discussed the incident with Mayor Dodge and expected follow-up within a week but had not heard back. She said police were called at the time and that she received medical attention.
Mayor Pro Tem Leafland (serving as meeting chair) and staff asked King to provide photographs and contact details to Village Manager George Kozwara so staff could follow up. Trustees asked whether the police had been contacted; King said they were. Village staff accepted the photographs King brought and requested that she also provide contact information by email so staff could follow up and potentially ask additional questions.
Board members thanked King for speaking; staff said someone would reach out to her after receiving the information. Trustees noted that public comment remarks are not debated during the meeting and that pending court matters are not discussed on attorney advice.
