The Fuquay-Varina Town Board on Aug. 4 adopted the town’s Strategic Plan for 2025–2029, a document staff said will guide departmental objectives, grant competitiveness and annual reporting.
Town Manager Adam Mitchell summarized that the plan updates earlier objectives and retains in-progress initiatives from the prior plan. He highlighted several new initiatives across the plan’s focus areas — effective government and governance, safety and security, economic vitality, preserving character and quality of life — and noted each department has a supporting departmental strategic plan. Mitchell said the town will continue annual public reporting on a plan “report card” posted to the town website.
Board members thanked staff for the work compiling objectives and for aligning the plan with grant-readiness; a motion to adopt the plan carried by voice vote.
Manager Mitchell credited department directors, assistant managers and the board for retreat guidance and said staff will begin implementation steps identified in the adopted plan.
