District staff reported progress on the phased implementation of Red Rover, a personnel and time-management platform, during the superintendent’s report on Aug. 4.
Ms. Bennett, presenting Dr. Mendoza’s superintendent’s report, said phase 1 — absence management and time tracking — began July 8 and that roughly 160 staff were trained on the first day back from summer shutdown week. All 12-month employees can enter leave requests, noncertified staff can clock in and out, and supervisors can approve timesheets. Training for extended-year staff began July 30; additional staff training will continue during institute days the week before school starts. Bus-driver training on Red Rover was scheduled to occur in August.
Phase 2, which covers hiring functions, is in the process of migration from the district’s current hiring system, Frontline. Administration set a target date of Oct. 31 to train staff and switch hiring processes to Red Rover; the date depends on system integrations and set-up tasks. District staff told the board they hope to train sooner but would report any scheduling changes to the board.
No formal action was required; the report was informational and shared as part of the superintendent’s report.
