Jared Shoop, the county’s innovation technology director, outlined a plan to pursue WCAG 2.1 AA standards, to designate a website accessibility coordinator, and to hire outside consultants for periodic audits. Shoop said the county will not stop publishing material but will use an internal gateway or review process to ensure posted content meets accessibility requirements. Commissioners requested a staff plan and budget for the work; the motion to approve the settlement passed unanimously.
