The Public Health & Safety Committee approved a three-year extension Aug. 4 with Andy Frayn’s managed crossing guard service to cover school crossing locations beginning in August 2025 at a cost not to exceed $243,462 for the 2025–26 academic year. Police staff said the outsourced service covers 25 locations and includes supervision; the arrangement allows officers and community-service officers to remain available for patrol and calls for service. Police staff acknowledged the service is not cheaper than assigning village personnel but said it produces efficiency and reduces human-resources and scheduling burdens for the village. The committee approved the extension by voice vote and staff said they were satisfied with contractor performance during the initial year.
