Board authorizes participation in national opioid litigation settlements including Purdue Pharma and additional manufacturers

The Milford Board of Aldermen voted Aug. 4 to participate in settlement discussions and related settlement-plan approvals for national opioid litigation. In executive session the board considered two related items; upon return the board approved motions to participate in settlement discussions concerning (a) the national opioid litigation including Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family bankruptcy and (b) settlement discussions concerning manufacturers including Alvogen, Apotex, Hikma, Indivior, Mylan, Sun, and Zydus. Both motions passed unanimously. Alderman Pacelli made the motions; votes were taken after executive session as recorded on the agenda. No further detail about settlement terms or allocation was released in open session; the board recorded the votes and the actions as authorizations to participate in the settlements.
